Baerental German Shepherds
All of Baerental German Shepherds’ dogs are bred from the very best West German show lines. They are chosen for their soundness of character, willingness to please, and intelligence, as well as for their structure and health. We’re committed to breeding dogs whose temperament and beauty allow them to perform in the show ring, in any dog sport, work as service dogs or detection dogs, and especially to be great family companions.

Why we breed with 100% German bloodlines
European German Shepherds have kept the original temperament and character of the breed due to the breeding protocol set down by Germany over 100 years ago. That protocol demands that before any Shepherd can be bred, he or she have good health and must show soundness of character and ability and willingness to work in a variety of areas. The breed worthiness tests of Begleitenhund, Schutzhund I, II, III and the breed survey are used by a licensed judge to evaluate each dog. You can learn more about these tests at www.germanshepherddog.com/schutzhund/index.htm
“The aim must be the healthy German Shepherd Dog, with a strong Character.”
